PHP Version Checker is a free tool that tells you which PHP version a website runs, shows the evidence behind the answer, and says whether that version still receives security updates.
A large share of the web still runs on PHP versions that no longer get security patches. Site owners often don’t know which version their host uses, and agencies, developers and security reviewers need a quick way to check many sites without logging in to each server.
This tool answers that in a few seconds, without sign-up, and is honest about how sure it is. See the checker on the home page for how the detection and confidence levels work.
Release, active-support and end-of-life dates come from the official PHP project: php.net supported versions and the unsupported branches list. The PHP versions table is updated when a new PHP version is released, usually in late November.
Many servers hide their PHP version on purpose, for example with expose_php = Off or by stripping headers at a CDN. In that case we can often tell that a site runs PHP, but not the exact version. Only someone with server access can always see it, using php -v or phpinfo().
